later part of June, most likely for Hartford announcement

14 posts in this topic

The NHL Stanley Cup will be over by June 15th, UConn graduation will be over by May 10th, and the Connecticut General *****embly regular session will be over by June 7th, allowing the later part of June to be the optimal time for any announcements in Hartford with the Governor and UConn President and NHL officials able to concentrate on announcement. June is the crucial month, with June of 2014 being when Mayor Segarra made the official baseball announcement on the steps of City Hall.

Stakeholders and important people to watch during the next 7 weeks,

Suzanne Hopgood, chairman of the Capital Region Development Authority

Governor Dannel P. Malloy

Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin

Global Spectrum, manager of XL Center

Frank E. Russo, executive vice president of Spectra, manages arena for CRDA

Michael Freimuth, CRDA’s executive director

SCI Architects, designed reconstructions of Madison Square Garden & Los Angeles Forum

Stafford Sports LLC, Severud Engineers

Hartford city council member John Q. Gale who developed idea that 40 towns in the Capital Region Council of Governments could pool $250 million and buy NHL team, creating a community ownership model similar to that of Green Bay Packers.

Metro Hartford Alliance

CERC - Connecticut Economic Resource Center

Local Fortune 500 Companies in the Hartford region : Aetna, The Hartford Financial Services Group, United Technologies Corporation, Cigna and Stanley, Black & Decker

Northland Investment Corp, controls adjacent mall

State Of Connecticut, Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD)

Hartford Business Improvement District

UCONN, 80-thousand alumni in the central Connecticut region

It was the NHL that chose SCI to work in Hartford, SCI also did the plans for MSG and for Webster Bank Arena, the NHL is making the request and the CRDA is going along with the NHL's decision. Stuff is moving very fast behind the scenes, with this week being a crucial week for final walk-throughs to make sure the plans will work, with an announcement taking place in late June, from what I am hearing.

And where are you hearing this Timmy?

Hope it's all true, but you sound like the Yin to wolfpack1998's Yang. Same craziness level, different sides of an argument.

Truth is, I wonder if it is 98.

This "TimmyfromBoosters" is as pro Whaler as Wolfie was against.

The thought that "Timmy" could be Wolfie's alter ego did cross my mind. I wouldn't be surprised if that were true.

To clarify, it appears that the last week of June holds the most promise, with the key dates moving forward being,

June 21, league unveils Vegas Golden Knights roster at NHL Awards show at TMobile Arena

June 23 and 24, NHL draft in Chicago

The week starting Monday June 26 could be a big week for an announcement in Hartford.

MarkH, his (top cat) mom didn't teach him manners. Top Cat, I'm trying to be civil to you, but you are making it difficult. Top Cat, I'm not leaving. I believe I have more of a right to be on a Whalers fan forum than either you, PukeFan98 or Did...I am a Whalers Fan, unlike you 3 morons....

Now, back to being civil....

The Hartford Courant has now put that above plan on their front page today on the website.
