COYOTES on the move to No Where

Recommended Posts

This is good news for Hartford, the Coyotes realize that the $40 million for the XL Center only got approved a few weeks ago, and that it will take time for the construction on the XL to take place.  What it means is: the Coyotes need a new home in September of 2019, that gives Hartford about 20 months to have the XL Center ready to host an NHL team and to have the construction equipment out of the way, which would probably have to wrap up around the summer of 2019.  It is very promising for Hartford that it is only a 1-year contract, it means there is no long term plan in Arizona, they know they are about to move and they are giving time for Hartford to be prepared.

The Coyotes have to move to the East, because the league will be putting an expansion team in the West, as the article points out.  Everything continues to keep going Hartford's way, and the outlets in East Hartford are just waiting for more word on what direction the NHL is going in Hartford, before they continue construction in East Hartford.

What construction? The plans for the $40 million don't have anything to do with any construction at all. The majority of that money is to buy the front part of the building and the atrium. The rest would go into fixing things around the arena like the elevators, some plumbing issues, and other odds and ends. There are no plans for any construction or remodeling at the XL Center. There would have been if they got the $125 million over the next two years like they wanted, but they only got $40 million to fix up the arena, and buy the front of the building in hopes that someone would be willing to buy the XL Center from them so they'd stop losing millions on owning the building.

None of you fools will be making snide remarks and downtalking Hartford when the Coyotes office personnel travel to Hartford next year to see construction progress and meet with League officials on the timeplan of moving the Coyotes to Hartford.

There will be nothing to look at because there won't be any construction in progress for the next two years. Heck, your buddy Bronin is begging for more money because he has no clue what he's doing, and you expect him to become governor? You really are delusional.
