I feel like New Years will never have a high attendance. I mean, most people go out somewhere like a party or something for New Years. I myself am going to an AWESOME event at the Aquaturf, which is a place that God himself has made it's so awesome.

Point is, as it gets later in the night, there's more events to compete with on a night like tonight. I'd honestly love to go if time permitted it, but I can't.

Attendance note...

4 Sa****ay dates this season have drawn an average of 6,185/game.

11 other dates this season have drawn an average of 3,427/game.

Agreed. I posted it not as much for the Sa****ay number as for the other number. And that number includes the 7,123 on Tuesday against Albany.

Getting people into the building on Sa****ay nights isn't the problem. Getting them into the building for any other night...that's a big problem.

Completely agree...that and breaking a couple 10s on the weekend would be a very good thing.

Seems like they are starting to promote the CT Hockey Hall of Fame night on March 10th more. Maybe we will get some good crowds that weekend leading into that stretch of home weekend games in march and Friday games in April. I wish it was a little sooner

I am a resident *****istant at a state university and i am going to try to bring a bunch of my residents to a game when school starts back up. A few co workers from other buildings have done it and its def a nice way to get students who like hockey to games for free since its paid for by student activity fees collected from students.

It looks like there is going to be a great crowd there on Sa****ay according to Ticketmaster. I just talked to one of my friends who lives in Boston who would never dream to come to a game here just told me that him and a bunch of guys have a Box and are driving tomorrow morning to spend the day in Hartford and go to the game. Weird but cool

Not sure about "great", but it should be pretty solid. As of just now, the sold number (take it for what it's worth) is about 4800. With another day to go, and remember...wearing either a Whale jersey or Ranger jersey gets you 1/2 off upper bowl or lower level end zone seats...that is going to help.

I'd love to see 7,000+.

Yup, glad some else holds the record and more importantly did it without **dging the attendance numbers. Great job Philly fans, AHL fans and Hershey fans. Thanks for shattering our bs outdoor record.

Mark, have you seen the game? It was on tv last night. Trust me, there were 45,000 people there. The place was packed. As for last night, tough loss, but incredible crowd!! Nice job whale fans!

YES it was packed however the number presented by the AHL will always be higher than the number of people that actually attended. This is the case everywhere even if its just a few dozen or a few thousand.
